what does it mean if i have cloudy pee?

Loading...

There are many possible causes of cloudy urine and only an urologist could figure out what the matter is after performing urinalyses. It would be best if you made an appointment with your GP who will refer you to an urologist if s/he finds it necesarry.

Cloudy urine could be indicating blood or proteins in the urine. Some of the causes could be as simple as drinks and foods that could change the color or consistency of the urine but others could be far more dangerous like kidney problems, prostatitis (if you are male), kidney stones, UTI, Cystitis, gonorrhea, abnormal vaginal discharge (if you are female), etc

I wouldn’t wait too long if I were you as bacterial infections could travel from lower urinary tract to the upper and infect kidneys if they haven’t already.

I must agree with Jenny. If you haven’t already you should visit your doctor and then be directed to the urologist. They usually so some tests and analysis of your urine and you get results very fast. After you are diagnosed the treatment will follow. Depending on the cause treatment options are offered to you by the doctor but usually antibiotics is first option when treating anything related to the Urinary tract.

If you are facing with UTI often try to drink a lot of cranberry juice or tea and in this way you will at least try to prevent future infections. Also if you don’t feel any pain or other symptoms maybe your urine is cloudy because of something you ate and it will get back its normal color very fast.
