pain killers after hemroidectomy

Percocet or the like for pain and diazapam for the spazams. Your doc must have forgotten because it is the standard to hve pain killers after that procedure. I would call your doc and not be nice about it. Sorry your hubby has to put up with that. When i first tried having my Hemerhoids banded my doc failed to give me diazapam for spazams and it caused me to call her on a weekend when she couldnt be reached. the office put me in touch with a fantastic surgeon who put my script in and really saved me. good think i got his name because i had him perform my recent PPH and external hemerhoid procedure. good luck

sorry am on day six and in so much pain but the Lord Makes it easier and my prayer is he will give us relief so that we can take care of our children.

I had the surgery 3/26/13 and I too am misserable. I do the 7.5 325 hydrocodone and stool softners and there is Not much relief. Not much trouble urinating but took 3 1/2 days for first bowell movement. Cannot imagine trying to use any type of suppostitory!! Doc said mine was one of worst cases he has seen. I have delt with the hems for about 40 yrs and knew it wouldn't be easy. Also try prunes to move bowells as it helped me do this, but use only if they don't move soon on their own. I don't feel like eating much and that doesn't help much either. Doc said two to three weeks recovery and I also think BIG FAT LIE! 6 months from now I will be glad it was done, but not right now! Prayers to all who go through this.

Well I had a hemorrhoidectomy done this past friday the 12th. Wow i am in soo much pain i really didnt realize it was going to be this painful. The nurse told me this is going to be a very painful recovery and i was like ok it wont be as bad, i was so soo wrong. I took vicodin for the first 4 days but i realized it does constipate me so i went ahead and stopped that and just took 3 200mg ibeuprofen. Today i am a week into this and the doctor prescribed me some antibiotic cream for my booty hole it stings a little but i can handle it. I also am taking valium now omg that just made me weak and a tad bit relaxed, still a lot of pain though. I bleed so much when i go poopy i was soo scared but he said its normal.. I know with time i will be ok i just hope it gets better soon.

 

Ps. i would not wish this pain not even on my worst enemy(if i had one).

That made me laugh so much I think I pulled a stitch. I am in agony, never again. It feels like someone has stuck a hot poker in my arse and repeats this procedure every time I stand up. I thought I needed to go to the toliet last night and all it was was wind. Wind hurts. I am going to kill my surgeon for using words like slight discomfort.

I am curious as to how you are doing now, I had a hemorroidectomy on July 3rd 2013? Needless to say I didn't have much of a 4 th of July. It is now September 1st and I still get bad burning that builds as the hours go by after a BM every day. Need to take a half a vicoden to get on with my day most days. Went to a new specialist after my first Dr. wasn't able to get me in on week 5 until the following week and I was experiencing a lot of burning and puss, 2nd Dr. basically said I was keeping it to clean So far his advice is helping. I think. Anyway I am really curious as to whether or not you are completely healed now, just looking for a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi all, just had the procedure done last wednesday and omg, I have never experienced pain like this, it literally puts me in despair especially after a BM, its undescribable, I believe the best way forward is not to eat for a few days, let some healing happen down below and then try another BM having first taken lots of laxatives, but for now plenty of pain relief and bed rest and lots of praying, good luck to all thxs Liam

I am 5 days post surgery. I had stage 4 hemorrhoids. The doctor said if I waited 3 to 4 more years I would have to had a colostomy bag. The first 2 dayd were not bad then the spasms started. Im a mom of two so I thought I could deal with the pain..NOT! I'm on oxcycotin for the pain which doesn't help at all. Yesterday I couldn't empty my bladder. Scared me I didn't go for 15 hours and i tried everyyhing. My spasms were really bad after my first bm. Then I had a second one. Pain was so bad I almost passed out. My friend took me to the er and they gave me a shot of morphine, valuim and bentyn. For stomach cramps. They sent me home with a catheter bag and said the pain meds are paralyzing my bladder. I have called my docyor for 3 days to get vicodin because I know it won't effect my ability to pee. Has anyone else had any of the problems I'm having. The doctor said I could go back to work after 7 days but I'm s server at a restaurant. I don't see that happening atleast for 5 more days.

I had last year hemorrhoid operation, I had use some of the following instructions for less pain:

1: Use memory foam mattress non spring or with spring but must have 2 layers of memory foam on top.

2: Eat a small portion of food once a day,will prevent you from multiple boil motion. Recommended food,( boil vegetable without carrot).

3: "Laxido" one or two sachet (or required) should use in glass of water for soft stool.

4: Caflam 50mg tablet (Diclofenac Potassium) for pain killer, 1 tablet can use after every 5-6 hours as required.

5: Do not use commode for stool passage, use only bath tub for stool passage,
a: Fill half tub with warm water (not Hot water)
b: Mix with a few drops of PYODINE for anti germs
c: Sat in tub and pass your stool, after passage stools drain the water from tub and fill more half tub warm water and mix with few drops pyodine for anti germs.
d: Clean anal with soft white wool, do 3 or 4 times until clean then empty the bath tub
e: Clean your self and ask your carer to clean or threw some anti bacteria mixed water in bath tub.

6: Do not set on hard chair and sofa or can use mobile soft cushion for setting.

after my haemorroid opeaion i has very verry bad spasms for 9 days i coul not breathe. dr then took me back to theatre and streched me!!!! i dont know what he stretched but the pain is one but i make accidents in my pants often as i am not able to control the muscle down there in the anus area!! please help, i think he stretched it too much now i need it to be tightened. i have been trying to do pelvic exercises to strengthen but nothing helps.

I feel your pain. I live in the bathroom. Having constant urgency to urinate & poop with no relief is very hard. I had to quit the stool softener because it made my stool like mush and could not get any relief. I am on fiber twice a day and cringe at the thought of having a bowel movement.

I feel like I am relearning how to poop and pee. In order to pee it takes a lot of concentration. As far as pooping it scares me to death. I have the urgency to poop most of the time but all I get out after much work is a smear. It has made me so sore the only relief I get is by running my butt under running water. I also started soaking in Epsom salts I don't know if the dr. Would agree.

Percocet 5mg/325 acetomyophen every 4 hours, and a extra tablet chewed up if a bowel movement was expected, also 6oo mg of ibuprophen every 6 hours, these all cause constipation so eat stool softners , uise supositories for lubrication, drink 6+ 20oz bottles of water per day......If the pain is still too strong, run some gath water, and deficate while in the tube......NO STEAKS only lighy food fot the next 15 days

I had a hemroid ectomy 2 weeks ago.  Best decision I ever made.   I had a thrombosed  vein causing it.   The very next day after the surgery even though it still hurt it felt better than before.  And by the end of the 1st week I wasn't even taking the pain meds I was perscribed any more as I didn't need them.   At the end of the 2nd week I barely have any discomfort and just had my 2 week checkup.  He took out the stitches and said the last of the discomfort should be gone in another week or 2.   Just make sure you get a good surgeon and have them remove it...NOT lance it.   IE if they did it in their office they just lanced it.   Get full removal of it done in an OR
