I am in my 40s and I have had painful neck glands, I have had glandulaur fever and tonsilitus ( tonsils have been removed ) and I cannot think why the glands around my jaw line are painful?

Can you suggest anything that I have not thought off.

Well, lymph glands are deposits for the immune system when there is some kind of infection in your body - deposit in a way that bacteria that are "beaten" are collected in lymph glands before they are dissolved. And, each part of the body has it's own lymph glands that are "in charge" foe that area. So, neck glands are responsible when there is throat infection, but also, when there is tooth infection. Sometimes, the glands can get infected themselves, when there is a history of previous infections.
