pains all gone with only 1 week till due date??

I've had an extremely good run in my 1st pregnancy and only started to get pains in my hips and lower back in the last week and half.....obviously with the baby putting more pressure lower and the hormones and what not taking over, however i woke up this morning to find my pains are all gone >.< im very confused as to why they would stop so abruptly when im so close to giving birth? any idea why they may have stopped we know the baby  is still engaged and lower then she was yesterday, just not painful any longer.
