Steroid cream should not be used on the gland its prescribed for phimosis ,skin that's become tight and can't be pulled back over gland. Use on skin only!!! A little may get on gland may not be able to avoid that but if your doctor told you to liberally apply to your gland, sew him

I second what this guy is saying about coconut oil!! After being prescribed a antifungal cream with medium potent steroid cream for only a month, I've been living with the shiny/red/dry/irritated patches on my foreskin for the last 5 years!!! The fcuking steroid cream stripped the top layer of my already thin foreskin making it susceptible to bacteria, germs, etc, therefore causing a chronic inflammation/redness. 1st, stop all steroid creams forever. 2nd, keep up your hygiene by using antibacterial soap. 3rd, and most importantly, liberally use coconut oil - to jack off and any other time - it works!

Anyway. I was prescribed hydrocortisone 1% and a separate thrush cream for the tiny amounts of redness at base of the glans. Fixed me at first. Then stupidly I used more. I used it mixed at first but then just the hydrocortisone 1% cream on it's own. Sometimes liberally; sometimes minimally. Overall, I used hydrocortisone 1% on and off for about 40 days over a 3 month period. Sometimes liberally; sometimes minimally.

It'll be 2 years in May since I last used this cream. It's a slow healing process and I don't know where it'll end up but most healing takes place in the first 6 to 12 months according to a Dr online. He said there are cases where it has taken 1 to 5 years for a full recovery.

Mostly the same. Few issues still show when the skin is having to work. Going from soft to erect for example. Some slight wrinkles can show. Or stretchmarks. Capillaries can show but have improved greatly. Sometimes skin can go a little red from foreskin striking the base of the glans. And dry skin shows now and then. Old skin cells being shed for new ones I guess.

But the skin has improved and rethickened a lot thankfully so don't despair. If you've done similar to me, most things get back to near enough normal. What the future holds for the other issues I'll have to wait and see.

Hydrocortisone 1% cream is thankfully a mild steroid but used incorrectly can give you temporary issues down below. Perhaps some slight issues are permanent. I think when people post on here they should state the cream they used and it's potenency. Hope my reply has helped, or will help some of you guys who are seeking answers. For me, my skin has greatly improved but it was a terrible and silly mistake to make. Be strong.

Just to add. I used a good quality lube at first to help keep the skin binded. After 6 months or so. Or maybe a year. I didn't use it anymore. Sometimes the skin can go a little red with lots of masturbation, or sex (covered so far). But usually disappears 24 hours or so later and doesn't happen often thankfully. Lube helps in the early recovery phases. Also, I have had covered sex numerous times after the initial 6 months so you can see from that it does recover but where it ends I do not know. For me the issues remaining are minor but still can get to you occasionally. Good luck everyone with everything. I hope everything goes well for all of us.

I was prescribed steroid cream to put on my lips because they were very red and swollen after rubbing them together (nervous habit I developed at a new job). I used the cream for 3 years because my lips never seemed to get better. What I didn’t know was that the steroid cream was severely damaging my lips (lip skin is very thin, similar to genital skin). They would get red, swollen, itchy, dry/cracked and blistery even at the lightest touch. Very humiliating since it was very visible on my face and made eating and talking difficult. Once I realized what was happening, I started mixing the steroid cream with Vaseline to lower the concentration and hopefully ween myself off of it. I finally complete stopped using the cream 3 months ago and believe I’m finally close to the end of this terrible process. My lips look back to normal and I haven’t had a flare up in awhile. My dermatologist also put me on gentamicin—a topical antibiotic—because all of the damage and outbreaks led to quite a bit of bacteria which made healing even more difficult. Finally I can say that there is hope!! My recommendation is to NEVER use steroid cream again, get a skin culture to see if you need antibiotics, moisturize regularly, and wait it out. Theres a good chance the skin will heal, but it will take a lot of time and patience. You shoukd Certainly see a dermatologist as well.

I’ve got it for tight foreskin and he said only use a very thin amount and absolutely don’t apply it to the glans. You made a big mistake.

Do you also have soreness or pain? I’m going through this as well. Used it for two weeks for dryness (ointment) and I have pain. Very tender.. the doctor said I could use %. Anyone else use ointment over the cream?
