I am using a MIRENA IUD, for the past year. I have abstained sexually, for the past 8 months. Because of the IUD, my periods had drizzled down to spotting for only a couple days. Now, since having had two sexual episodes, I have been bleeding for days, and much heavier than before. Is there a reason for this?
