It seems that my husband has persistent anal abscesses and he has problem dealing with it. The topical creams that he is using now are now very effective and he often has to take them at work, which he find very embarrassing. He is diabetic, so it makes additional problems to situation. He is constantly in pain. What is solution?

A rectal abscess is caused by a bacterial infection, so as the body attempts to combat the infection bacteria, white corpuscles and body fluids collect. I had a friend wit persistent rectal abscesses and I believe that he needed surgery. It was years ago, so I can’t tell you for sure how it was. It is more surgical drainage. He tried with everything from antibiotics, warm baths…but it seems that only this worked
