Please help me, I am afraid for my child. I am in the 3rd trimester. I have pertussis. It has started like an ordinary cold, runny nose, occasional fewer, sneezing etc. Then I have started to loss my breath, to cough a lot and to make strange sounds while I cough. Also I have started to vomit. Now I know that I have pertussis. What treatment will I receive?

This is serious condition and only the doctor who is monitoring your pregnancy can choose the right therapy. Treatments of prophylaxis with the macrolides, azithromycin, erythromycin and clarithromycin are something you should expect most likely.
