Thats when your have a soft piggy back contact lens underneath a hard one which fits on top. Its usually a technique used for people with keratconus (cone shaped cornea) but can be used for other purposes and in your case (well I don't know your prescription so I can't safely say) its probably been done to reduce sensitivity to your normal contact lens and to improve the stability of your vision.
