Hi Maxine,

Please advise if you have any updates from your post-pinguecula surgery? I was diagnosis with pinguecula 3 weeks ago and it's has affected me considerable. I would like surgery but my eye doctors said my case is mild but to me it seems to have gotten worst since then.

I’ve been following this thread for awhile due to pinguecula in both eyes. However, the right eye is less noticeable than the left eye. After years of waiting for it to go away, I realized that it was time to get it removed. I had my surgery done in September 2017. Overall, the procedure was quick and pain free. It took her less than 10 mins to numb my eye and she used a small scissor to cut it out. No stitching was recommended and the healing took about a mo th for me, but everyone is different with healing time. When I left the clinic, my eye was red but it wasn’t as bad. I didn’t feel any pain. She prescribed ointment for inflammation and infection. It’s now Dec 2017 and every now and then I would notice my eye getting inflamed and a small raised bump. It’s frustrating that this is happening and I’m really hoping that it’s nothing serious but I will definitely be following up with her again. I wish there was more reputable information about post surgery and what to expect. The doctor I went to had almost 5 star rating and my insurance covered the procedure.

Used to have the same issue of waking in middle night with pain. 1. Drops before
2. Then use a sleep mask protect over dry eye
3. use unrefined coconut oil in lashes.
