My son has got pertussis as a baby. He would cough that long until he got blue and threw up. He was hospitalized for about 2 weeks. He was monitored and treated very carefully, I was very thankful for that. I’m interested in if he is protected by his own immunity now, after attack happened?

Immunity is not life long. One attack can provide immunity for several years. Vaccine is given 6 times in children at 2 months of age to 7 years. It’s diteper combined vaccine. I’m glad to hear that your son’s well. He has probably got strong immunity.
