I am 10 weeks pregnant and few days ago I have noticed some bleeding. It is light but I am worried that I will have a miscarriage. I don't want to lose my baby. My sister and my friend have told me that it is normal for some women to bleed during pregnancy. Is this true? I am really worried so I would like some advice. Thanks

You did not tell me if you went to your doctor. If you didn't I advise you to go as soon as possible. I don't want to scare you because it might be nothing. However, you have to be 100% sure when it comes to health of your baby. The period-like bleeding is quite normal in some women, especially in the first trimester of the pregnancy. Even though this bleeding resembles menstruation, it is actually something different. One of the most common causes of bleeding during pregnancy is called deicidal bleeding. This bleeding happens because sometimes your body’s hormones can get out of whack causing you to lose parts of the lining of your uterus. What ever the cause is, make sure to go to your doctor and don't ignore the signs of your body. Bleeding from the vagina can be a sign of a miscarriage and it is usually light. If the bleeding persists or increases, the chances of losing the baby are higher. Besides bleeding, someone women experience severe abdominal pain and dizziness, cramping or low backache. I hope that this will not be a case with you and that everything will be ok with you baby.
