But, here's my problem. It is now December 21st, and more than 3 months after this surgery, I am still experiencing digestive issues of the sort. No matter what I eat, within 20 or so minutes I get terrible cramps and need to run to the bathroom. I go to the bathroom at least 5 times a day, most of the time with the runs. There's no way I can NOT go to the bathroom. I have also gained weight, and with the number of times I go to the bathroom, I thought I would have LOST the weight.
Is this common after the surgery? Is it necessary to drastically change my diet? Has anyone else had this problem? :[ i feel so embarrassed and uncomfortable with these problems!

I had my gallballder removed 32 years ago. I was a normal sized person and very active. After having the surgery I also had the runs 4 or 5 times a day six days a week and I also gained weight. I gained 87 pounds in the first 9 months. I gained another 80 over the other 30 years and no matter what I do I can't lose weight. Everyone thinks it is because I over eat but it really isn't. I believe it has something to do with having my gallbladder out. I have not found anything to correct this problem. I believe it is important that if anyone finds a resolution to this they post it everywhere because I know many others that have the same problem.
