ok...feb 16 will be the 4th week since my ablation...i am still passing pink slimy discharge...enough to need a tampon....is this normal?? there is also an odd odor that i have never experienced, and dont know how to explain it to anyone...my post op exam two weeks ago was normal, no infection....problem thou....i am still cramping....and not just light ones either...i was told before the ablation that my right overy was enlarged and had cysts, but normal cysts...and my left overy was no where to be found during a pelvic ulrasound with a wand....so, should i still be seeing so much discharge, why the cramping, and whats with the odor???

I had my Uterine Ablation on Jan 13/2011. I have been dealing with cramping and disharge as well, and I can sympathize with the above post, about the odor!!! What is up with that?!?!?! Today is 11 days after the surgery, and I am now bleeding. I have booked a follow-up appt with the Doc for the end of this week, but should I seek medical attention BEFORE the follow-up?!?! Please help!!!

I had my ablation 1/11/11. A week post-op, I had the same discharge that had a weird odor. I went for a follow-up, but everything was normal. My doc told me that this was the result of the normal weeping that takes place after a burn. Just that simple. The odor wasn't overwhelmingly horrible, just weird. Consult with your doc.
But, here's the WORST thing that's happened: I was due to get my period today. I was in the middle of a college lecture and it was like my water broke! I've experienced having my water break spontaneously, so this was worse...by far! I felt a sudden gush of wattery fluid. It was at least 6 oz. My jeans were soaked half way down my thighs! Thankfully, I had worn a jacket that I was able to tie around me, or life would have reeeeeally sucked today! I plan to call doc tomorrow. WARNING: before you think you're about to your normal period time, wear the thickest, jumbo pad you can find. Seriously, I don't even know if that would have been enough to handle the 6 or so ounces that came out. If I had it to do over, I'd have gone out and bought some Depends! Oh, I had another, smaller cloud burst about 5 mins after the first gush! Neat, eh? Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I had an ablation and tubal ligation (as well as an exploratory laparoscopy which found/removed an adhesion and a D&C) on 1/31/11. I went in for my post op follow up on 2/10 (Thurs) and everything was GREAT...pain/cramping was beginning to subside and the discharge I was experiencing (which was minimal since surgery) was completely normal...and with no odor. I started running errands again and just getting out and about the day after my follow up (Friday). By Sunday afternoon, I was starting to experience moderate cramping and low back pain. When I woke up on Monday morning (today), I had leaked through a pad during the night (a yellowish, clear liquid) and when I went to the bathroom I noticed a foul odor. I was still having pretty bad cramping and as the morning progressed, I started running a fever and just felt generally unwell. I called and talked to the phone nurse at my doc's office and she suggested I be seen TODAY. Sure enough, it's an infection from the ablation. My doctor said it's not that common (even said the last time he had a case like mine was over a year ago). I was given an antibiotic as well as a RX for a pain med and have to follow up in a week. I am to call the office if I notice any symptoms worsening between now and my next appointment.
I don't have a question to post, but I just wanted to share my experience in case it could help someone. Basically - if you're not sure about something or you just have a question - call your doctor...they're working for YOU.
