Just adding a post to the ones already here.

I had a macular hole repair and  was doing ok for a month then a retinal detachment ( I think from the surgery ) which has just been a disaster. This was three years ago, I still have wavy lines, vision is 20/250 so about 5 % and silicone floating around in my eye. In total 4 operations, eye muscles were so stretched I had to have the lid lifted and it looks normal. Now it is being treated for early stage glaucoma, again from the stress of the operations.

The only time my eye feels good is with a patch or closed. The worst part is trying to do things which require depth perception, like hammering a nail. Of course it hasn't done much for my golf game either, lol.

I don't expect it to get any better, so the best of luck to anyone else who is dealing with this as I have not talked to anyone who has had this repair done and has retained their vision.

My advice.. get the best surgeon available, check them out!
