Hello to all reading this.

I had a vasectomy on the 10th June 2014 and the procedure took a whole 12 minutes. Everything seem to be as it should. I was released by 2:30 that afternoon and felt OK. By 5pm the same day I started feeling pain in my scrotum and abdominal area as it seemed to be swelling quickly. Them pain was getting bad to worse and I knew something was wrong. I had my wife take me back to the hospital emergency area and the made me wait for the surgeon to come out of surgery to look at me. It was the same surgeon that worked on me. Finally after an hour or so of waiting he came out and said you have a scrotal hematoma and we must operate to drain the blood and stop the bleed. So after an hour of operating I wake in recovery feeling pretty ordinary but somewhat better. Lessons pain that is. All went well I'm told so they take me to my room to recover. Then swelling is less on my my scrotum and my abdominal area which is good. The incision is 2 inches long on my left one as opposed to 2 mm on my right one. Great. They had to make that size incision because they had to take my left testicle out completely so they could flush all the blood out then find the bleed and stop it then put it all back in and sew it closed. Nice right?.

I stayed in the hospital for two days to make sure things didn't get worse then went home. My scrotum, penis, abdominal area, left hip and buttocks turned purple/black and swollen but not llike before. In don't have much pain in my testicles or scrotum or penis but in my groin muscle extending from my left testicle up slightly to my abdomen where the hematoma tracked. When im lying down I have generally little or no pain anywhere, until I get up where I feel my left testicle being pulled down from that groin muscle or whatever its called. This pain has remained even though most of the swelling and discoloration has almost gone. Regardless of whether I wear supportive underwear the pain remains and grows unless I physically support them with my hand and pain still remains unless I lie down.  Its now the 17614 a week after all this has happened and feel as if things aren't going to get any better soon. Just finished my antibiotics and have slight blood leakage from the stitches at the bottom of my testicle which I've had since I left the hospital. What I'd like to know if there's light at the end of the tunnel? Thanks for reading.

You need to follow up with your doctor(s) right away and explain to them exactly what the problems are and that you are hoping for a full recovery. Don't wait for too long; keep things fresh in their mind. If you're not getting the care and results you require, then move on to another set of doctors. You can't let this linger for long because everyone will assume you can live like this for the rest of your life.

True and thanks. I'm feeling heaps better now two weeks after the op but I still have some sort of almond/walnut size growth or scarring attached to my testicle which scares me. I think its getting smaller as of today but time will tell. Thanks for you'd advice.
