Hi, guys. My mother has been a diabetic for more than 10 years ago. I know that diabetic retinopathy is a common complication for diabetes. I would like to know something more about preventing this complication. Can anyone give me some good advice? I would be more than grateful. Bye, folks!

Hi to you too. Your mother should control her blood sugar levels regularly. It is important for preventing other complications as well. Blood pressure should also be controlled. She should visit an ophthalmologist every year. If she notices any change in vision, she should visit him immediately. If she already hasn’t done it, she should change her habits. If she is smoking, she should stop with that activity. She should also reduce meals with high cholesterol. Moderate exercise is recommended. She shouldn’t do some heavy exercises though.
