GUILTY! I am on the same cruise with all of you. I've increased my intake over the past 3years. I was doin so well before then. no cravings. just eating some during the summer. now its all year round, and I can eat ice all day if I'm home. it's gotten so bad that use heaters to keep me warm while I crunch and now have radiation heat marks on my legs. its terrible and now the weather is breaking. I would say I need help but I have iron supplements but refuse to take them, I don't wanna be constipated lol

, have your doctor check for anemia. I'm severely anemic to the point I have to get transfusions every couple weeks and my doctor has told me that being anemic is why I eat ice constantly

I actually have the opposite problem I use ice as a natural laxative cause I don't know why but practically instantly I could have just started on a cube and only just swallowed half or so and instantly have to go I first wondered if it was cause I use hot water when I make ice cause it tastes different but it has the same effect when I use cold so I've also wondered about this.

Hello - I too am addicted to eating ice and have been for several months. It really is a compulsion, not a choice. I also like the softer frosted ice. I buy a large bag of ice from turkey hill - and only turkey hill - every other day. I get upset and worried when someone else needs some ice. I eat ice constantly to the point where my jaw aches so bad but that doesn’t stop me. I just take some Advil and chew more ice. I’m really glad to see other people have this same issue, not glad they are going through this too but glad I am not alone in my ice addiction. Recently my bite has “changed” and my back teeth are out of alignment. I was wondering if anyone knew if eating ice could be the reason for this. I’ve been too embarrassed to ask my dentist this question. Also, recently my tongue has been burning in several places and is painful to touch. Could this be caused by eating ice? Is it possible for tongues to get frostbite from eating ice constantly? Any feedback/thoughts are welcomed!

My daughter craved ice, but not just any ice. She was eating five pounds of ice a day, she craved the "dirt" taste and it turns out she was very anemic. She started getting iron infusions and that stopped her ice craving. However, she has experienced an almost total lack of taste. She can taste some flavors, but other than those, her food is flat. We are hoping this isn't a permanent thing. I've read where taste buds can "cure" themselves, sure hope that's right.
