3 months ago I fell off a wrought iron chair that hit me in the vagina. I fell back onto my right hip and neck. I now have been diaginosed with pelvic floor disorder. Being sent to see a spine specialist/pelvic floor physical therapy. My life has been a living hell since Jan.16th. I am worried that I won't be able to have sex again. Next week going to have the pudental nerve checked out. All pelvic organs not working right. Anyone with this problem. I have a great guy in my life and don't want to lose him because of this.

Hi dittobabe
I was diagnosed with PNE (Pudental Nerve Entrapment) after having my daughter 8 months ago. It has been a long and painful road but there is hope. I'm doing much better than when initially diagnosed 3 weeks after delivery. I suggest seeing an orthopedic who specializes in this condition as they understand the nuances of the minimal treatment options. There are only a few doctors in the US who know about and treat this condition. I suggest going to Dr. Kenneth Renny's website. He not only treats this but had the condition himself so understands the pain and related issues that occur.
Have hope and determination to get better. I was terrified when I first found out. I was told not to sit EVER! How does one go through life without sitting I thought?! I had problems with standing, walking, urinating, BM and sex was out of the questions. All this in addition to constant pain which was only relieved when I was lying down.
My treatment included weekly physical therapy and steriod injections into the pudental nerve bundles. I will not mislead you by saying this was easy or not painful but it has paid off. My pain level has decreased significantly and my mobility is back to normal. I still have challenges with sitting but much much better than several months ago.
You've been diagnosed early and that is in your favor for a complete recovery. You won't find many definitive answers on how long recovery takes or what the "normal" course is as this condition is very rare and little is know about "standards". No real research has been done from what I can tell.
