Ok, so me and my girlfriend have just become sexually active, and we really haven't gone past just touching each other, but I know it's probably going to escalate soon and I'm really worried about breaking her hymen or causing her pain...anyone have any advice? Thanks a lot

Breaking the hymen for the first time can really hurt for a girl. I suggest you let her suggest when it's time, because she's the one that might be caused pain. however, do not overfret, because that can lead to problems, in EVERY situation. You probably know it bleeds when it is broken. again, do not overfret. you should probably have something to clean it up with. it doesnt go gushing forth, but you still don't want blood on anything. (i get crazy over my furniture cleanliness!) BUT! you might know this, might not. its 85-15 that you know it (85 being the likeliness of you knowing it). her hymen might already be broken. if she does swimming or equestrian sports alot, it is very likely she has broken her hymen without knowing it. so always consider that.
