I had heart palpitations until I did a few different things. I changed my diet- discovered that I can't eat anything with gluten anymore and still trying to figure out why. I was having terrible bloating along with all other kinds of problems. To name a few: fatigue, anxiety, malabsorption (undigested stool), insomnia, gas, hemorrhoids, ulcerate colitis, joint pain, itching, phlegmy cough, steatorreah (smeary, sticky stool), night sweats and it goes on. Some of those I think are an allergic reaction that I had to gluten. I have also done a few liver/gallbladder flushes (considered an alternative treatment and can be found online). A clogged gallbladder and liver will cause a lot of digestive problems (possibly where my other symptoms come in- I passed several "normal stones" and one that had a lot of residue on it that looked like it had been lodged somewhere for a very long time). I have done a series of colon, heavy metal, liver, candida, and other cleanses. I don't know what ultimately did it but I do not have heart palp's anymore and I am very relieved, though I am still dealing with a few other things. However, my itching is almost non existent, I don't have hemorrhoids anymore, I don't bloat unless I eat gluten-contaminated foods or lots of carbs, I have controlled my anxiety by eating more small meals (lots of snacks) and more plant proteins, and my fatigue is also gone. One last thing that I have started doing is taking several supplements: a multi vitamin, probiotics, digestive enzymes, hcl, cherry capsules which makes my joint pain go completely away, and a fish/flax oil (EFA). I am also experimenting with some anti-bacterial/anti-viral herbs, because they seem to make my night sweats go away which makes me suspect that I have an infection of sorts, unfortunately. Anyways, I just wanted to share my experience with you because it has been very challenging for me and I would have loved any kind of help. Good luck.

Aaaaghhh, OMG, I've been waiting for someone to say it and no one has!!

WEIGHT LOSS, changes in appetite, HEART PALPITATIONS and possibly tachycardia, nervousness/anxiety without explanation, INSOMNIA are ALL related to thyroid conditions. Usually weight loss is associated with HYPERthyroidism (hypothyroidism is the other one, and is associated with weight gain, feeling cold all the time, fatigue, lethargy, etc etc)

Look it up, seriously.

You may want to go see your primary care doctor, or an endocrinologist. Sounds like a thyroid issue. I have over active thyroid (hyperthyroid) and lost a ton of weight randomly, had the palapatations and my hands would keep falling asleep or were tingly. I was going through a high stress time also, and thought it was that too.

With hyperthyroid it can cause your blood pressure to go out of control which is why you develope heart palapatations, etc. It can also cause you to get hypertension (mine did) which is a whole new set of problems. If I were you I would get a thyroid blood test asap. I ended up in the ER with congestive heart failure after going about two+ years without treatment, and almost died. Now I take medications that control everything and I am looking into haveing my thyroid gland removed.

I see that you have gone to several dr's. Mine was hard for them to figure out as well, but be persistent. The only person vested really in your health is YOU!

Good luck!!!

I think Katie might be on to something. I googled the symptoms I have been having which are insomnia and excessive burping. I do have some heart palps but not too bad. I have taken xanax in the past for anxiety and I usually was able to get a good nights sleep. However, I recently weened myself off and have been having these problems every since. That was about a month ago. I have hyper or hypothyroidism. I can't remember which one. My thyroid levels are elevated and I take synthroid for this. I also have very, very dry skin and hair and my hair sheds terribly. I am 44 years old. I was thinking my synthroid dose was not high enough before I read her post and now I am really curious. I will let everyone know. Thanks Katie!!

You may have a hyperactive thyroid.
All of your symptoms seem to match
well. Ask your doctor for a blood test.

Hi I had the same problems and after seeing a holistic doctor (normal doctors just wasted my time) and doing some tests I was disgnosed with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and a few food allergies, and everytime I have sugar I get all the symptoms back, I hope this helps, you can do a search for hypoglycemia and explains what is is and what to do, its simply not having any sugar and eating every 2 hours with a well balanced diet....
