Hello, I am 35 years old and I would like to know how to deal with my problem. I have been actively drinking for the past 5 years, and when I say active, I mean almost every weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Somehow, I manage to stay sober over the working days but when the Friday comes… Anyway, I have decided to change it all and I will try first with rational recovery. Is that a good choice?

First of all, you are doing a good thing by just deciding to stop drinking. As for your choice, I guess it is as good as any other, just as long you stick with it until you are completely recovered. Perhaps a consultation would be in place, but even without that, starting a treatment is a good thing. I heard that rational recovery is all about self recovery with the use of AVRT method. Try it, you have nothing to loose.
