Hey there.
My girlfriend is 18 years old and she has been diagnosed with several disorders. Including: Bipolor Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder. Uterine Fibroids ( i think )
She has a couple other things i cannot remember, and also takes a lot of medication.
She takes 500mg of Depakote every night, along with, im thinking 21/2 Mgs of Resperidone. ( White oblong tablets, two and a half at night ) Along with meds for her Uterine thing. but that only started recently.
I have no idea how long she has been on the two major drugs, but i know for over a year. But she thinks the Depakote and resperidone are causing them.
im trying to figure out just what is wrong with her, and what we can do to try and help stop the seizures and or panic attacks.
usually what triggers the "seizures" is:
stress, anger, frightening stories or events, ( cant watch horror movies, also has night terrors )
If she gets too cold, she'll go into a cold shock and start convulsing.
Also, they just happen randomly.
Usually she'll start to get lightheaded, her arms will go numb, long with her legs. sometimes she gets tingly feelings all over her limbs. Her eyes will flutter and roll into the back of her head and her body will go limp. she lays there for a second before starting to twitch and shudder all over. She gasps for air and sometimes cant breathe, she'll even turn purple and not breathe for a good 60 seconds.
she seems like she is aware most of the time, but cannot get words out, and when she does they are jumbled and you cant understand her. other times she is totally gone and nothing you do or say can bring her back.
When i am there i pull her onto her side between my legs and rub her back. I keep her on her side so she wont swallow her tongue. i keeping talking to her so she can try to hold onto my voice. so far, i think that helps a lot.
anyway. She'll have these " seizures" anywhere from 10 mins to 5 hours. it really depends on the night.
If you have any information please help. We are really scared.
thanks so much.
