My 13 year old daughter has a series of hard bony lumps on her ribs. They run parallel to her sternum, about 1-2 inches to the left of it. They appear to be a protrusion of the ribs.
This "growth" appeared over the past 1-3 months and seems to be getting bigger.
The X-ray appeared normal. She does not feel any pain from them, and they feel like bones. Basically like a deformed ribcage. She hasn't had an accident or trauma.

We have an appointment with a pediatrician coming up soon, but not with a bone specialist.
Does anyone have experience with a health issue like this? She does not have any pain from it, but the hard lumps (bone deformity? other?) protrudes enough to be visible through clothing.

If she's still growing, you should get her to see a doctor as soon as possible, so that this can be treated before the bone is fully grown and fully formed.

I have a lump between ribs that looks like a deformed ab, no pain, but sometimes hurts if disturbed.
How to get rid of this lump?
