This happened to me and by some dumb luck, I went to urgent care because I thought I had gastroenteritis as I had it many years before and felt similar. I thought I would get some antibiotics and be on my way home. The doctor was amazing. He did a stomach X-ray and saw no gas and no bowels which does not explain why I felt the intense pain that I described as gas pain and that I felt like I was "backed up." Sine he could not find the source of the pain, he insisted that I go right away to the nearest hospital for a CT scan. He made me drink a liter of contrast. This was at 8 pm! So surprised that he could still refer me to the hospital and that someone can still do the scan. Anyway, I figured they would all realize that it's a mistake and I did have gastroenteritis after all but it turned out that I had an infection in my left pelvis. They refused to release me until I got treated because it was a potentially serious condition. A doctor gave me a gyro check and turns out the pain radiated from my cervix and I had an inflamed left Fallopian tube. She said I had pelvic inflammatory disease. I never heard of this before. I knew I definitely did not have STDs or STIs as I get tested annually. She gave me an antibiotic injection and 10 days of oral antibiotics. It seemed so serious. She also gave me a pamphlet about PID and it said because it is a serious condition that can damage the reproductive organs, the hospital is obligated to report the diagnosis to the MIB (Medical Information Bureau). I was so scared. The pain was so bad that it felt like my lower abdomen was raw on the inside. Any eating, walking, touching would just agonize me so much like someone was cutting into my insides. Fast forward three years now, I have had three more bouts of this a treated the same way. I am again dealing with it now. It is horrible. I feel crippled because I have to lay still and try to breathe calmly because any movement would irritate the pain points.

I've had the same exact pain, we was trying something new and wanted to have sex in the shower. After a few minutes it was so painful. I stepped out of the shower and we tried another positions, excruciating pain shot in my body. I fell to the floor and closed up in a ball. Took some medicine then tried to take a shower, I felt like I was going to pass out. I was nauseous, my vision was going in and out. I had to lay down in the most uncomfortable way for an hour for the pain could at least ease up

I know this forum is so old, but what you described is the EXACT same way, word for word. It felt, worse than labor!!!!! The pain made me feel so sick to my stomach like I needed to throw up. Woke up today feeling sensitive/tender in my lower abdominal. Can't walk straight or great, using my adnominal muscles hurts. Peeing this morning hurt. But it feels like it all comes from reproductive organs.I was wondering if you ever found out anything. Last year a Dr diagnosed me with pcos . due to the fact I only ovulate every few months. I'm thinking a cyst on my ovary erupted? My period is due any day now.

Exactly same things happened to me although I wasnt asleep prior, I am however due my period! I'm a mother of 3 and can only describe the pain like child birth (just no gas and air at hand) I've tried standing (made me dizzy) one leg in the air, on all fours and nothing is easing.... currently sat up lcrouched (seems to help a little) my tummy also feels like it's going to explode... bloated! At least I know I'm not the only one and don't need medical attention! (Ouch ouch OUCH) ... pointless pain! Thankyou mother nature!!

Useless posts? Who are you to say these posts are useless? I can tell you I've been to four different doctors in the last 3 months, been put through a bunch of different scans and tests to find out I have IBS. Your post makes it sound as if the only possible cause of these symptoms is a bladder infection, which is completely wrong. There are several conditions from your reproductive system, digestive and endocrine system that can cause these symptoms. Just because your girlfriend had a bladder infection doesn't mean that's what everyone on this post has. Furthermore, the reason these posts seem useless to you is because these women haven't posted a diagnosis... Because they don't have one! Do you not understand for women who aren't pregnant or have an infection it's several doctors visits because there could be so many different conditions that can cause pain during sex from colitis to PCOS and endometriosis and so many more conditions. Most often it is an infection, but these women are posting because they've been to the doctor and infections were ruled out right away.

I am currently in bed for the second time this week in horrible, horrible pain. It's so excruciating. Last weekend, after my husband and I had sex I thought I was going to need to be rushed to the ER with how much pain I was in. I couldn't move without the most intense pain running through my lower abdomen. I felt like it was a giant gas bubble stuck in my intestines. The thing was I went to the ER 2 months ago for them to do an ultrasound and discover everything is fine. The nausea, the intense pain, the goosebumps from the cold spells, the lightheadedness. Literally awful. But I'm so glad to see I'm not alone. I'm taking stool softeners, GasX, and ibuprofen which seem to help but of course not until after I go through this intense pain. I didn't have pain this time during sex, but 5 mins after I was again in horrific pain. :( I don't know what else to do.

Same exact thing as everyone else and yes I was so close to orgasm seconds before my boyfriend came but did not make it...also in the sand place in my cycle. I have wondered if it is related to the position of the cervix as my boyfriend also goes quite deep.
