I did go to the ER when this occurred after rough doggystyle. It turns out i had a horrible ovarian cyst. Get checked for that if you still have pain.

ovarian cysts guys, they start to act up rite before you start your period most will go away, some stay, and some rupture which is when the pain gets REALLY intense so those of you getting sweaty and nearly throwing up, you probably ruptured a cyst, i reccomend if the pain goes away after a short period of time just make a regular appt with your gp but if it lasts and you really just cant handle the pain, go in to the emergency room, they will help you through until the pain subsides...

Hi,
Unlike the rest of the posts writers, I am not a woman, but a freaked out BF. My gf of 28 just experienced this 20 minutes back, basically to what everyone here has posted. I am ashamed to say i didnt do much, just freaked out, all i could do was hold her hand. She is due for her periods soon. Right now she has fallen asleep. Will tell her to read these posts. It was helpful. Thank you all.
Thank you,

Vaginismus is vaginal tightness causing discomfort, burning, pain, penetration problems, or complete inability to have is the cause of her penetration or pain difficulties. intercourse. The vaginal tightness results from the involuntary tightening of the pelvic floor, especially the pubococcygeus (PC) muscle group, although the woman may not be aware that this
May be it can be a type of "vaginismus" maybe when the vagina contracts too much when penis penetrates, it will obviously hurt. we are not robots...

Hi - I came across this board in a search for what I had just experienced myself last night. From what I'm reading we all seemed to have similar experiences. My bf and I were having sex and during the middle of it (I already had an orgasm, he didn't) I felt pain building up in my pelvis. I had to stop him and I ran into the bathroom, hoping it was some sort of intestinal discomfort or I had to pee... It only got worse after that. I was folding over on the toilet, naked and moaning in pain. My back, arms and neck/face were sweating profusely - dripping even. I didn't want to move, but my bf coaxed me to lay down in the bed. The pain was the worst pain I ever experienced. The sweating continued, I was practically hyperventilating then feeling faint and nauseous. Honestly felt like I was going to die. There were a million thoughts racing in my mind. I remember feeling like two people at once - one that was searching for answers and another who was in excruciating pain. As this continued for about 30 mins, my bf was frantically searching the web for information on what I was experiencing while asking if I thought I needed to go to the ER. I didn't feel like putting on clothes let alone going down the stairs and getting into a car - all of which felt impossible at the time. The sweating made me so cold I started shaking, the pain began to slowly die down and I was so exhausted all I wanted to do was sleep. This morning I had some pain left - which felt more like really bad gas pain - throughout my abdomen/pelvis region. Anyone find out what this could possibly be? I searched and searched on the web and haven't found anything - my gyno didn't have much to say about it either. So odd.

Hi everyone. Reading all of these posts made me feel a bit better that I am not the only one but at the same time, there doesn't seem to be a clear explanation for the pain.
I have just gotten all exams done about 5 months ago. I do them every year as a check up. Never had ovarian cysts or endometirosis.
Now, these pains have started in December, just 4 months ago. Is it possible that cysts or endometriosis could have develped since my last check up?
The last episode just a few days ago was right after intercourse with my husband. We were in a spooning position, so not so deep, and I had just about ended my menstrual period. A lot of you here are saying this happened before, mine happened after. I also was a bit bloated from gas pains and I did have an orgasm. Some of you mentioned being constipated or having irritable bowel problems that could influence. Did any of you feel this without orgasming? I wonder if he has to do with the contractions of the uterus after orgasm which could make it worse.
The weirdest thing is, the first two episodes one in December and one in February didn't happen after sex! They happened while I was standing up cooking or walking down the street, they were shorter but just as intense. I had to literally stop what I was doing and sit or lie down, was sweating profusely and even felt nauseous, and a tingling around my pubic area as a reaction to the pain. I am not quite sure but these did happen just before or beginning of my period, I thought they were just more intense menstrual pains due to stress (because I was very stressed during that time).
But with this pain immediately after sex I know something is not right with my body. I went to the local hospital here n Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) where I live, but since I wasn't in pain they didn't really take me seriously. They did a clinical exam and diagnosed me with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, which is caused by a bacteria or STD, but without any lab testes! I only have one partner, my husband, and I am really questioning their diagnosis since they did not do an ultrasound. They put me on antibiotics, and I am taking them just in case, but I have a really strong feeling, especially reading all of your posts that it has nothing to do with an infection. I mean, what kind of bacterial infection lasts 4 months and comes in waves just before/after my period?
Please let us know if any of you have found any other diagnosis and clues about what this could be. Thank you for your posts, it really made me feel better.

Just happened to me last night and the pains were exactly like the agonizing cramps I had as a teenager (almost as bad as induced labor contractions without an epidural), so I did what worked then...
Short-term pain management suggestion:
Step 1. Take painkillers fast, preferably one that is also a muscle relaxant. I take six 200mg Ibprofen because my experience says anything less is useless, more than six is dangerous. Know your own best painkiller.
Step 2. Take Gas-X or Tums, use whatever you have to reduce abdominal gas. Whatever is happening tends to produce gas which increases pain. Encourage yourself to burp as much as possible to relieve a little pressure.
Step 3. Climb into a tub and lay down (curled up, knees up, or flat, whatever hurts least). Turn on the shower to the hottest you can handle and position the worst pain under the strongest downpour. The pounding hot spray encourages your muscles to relax enough for the painkillers to kick in. Time under the spray varies, I was there for 2 hours last night before I could walk again (probably because I accidentaly took Tylenol instead of Ibprofen). Part of being able to relax is knowing if you bleed, pee, or vomit it doesn't matter, it all goes down the drain.
Step 4. When the pain subsides enough to walk... dry off, climb in bed and curl up with a heating pad (a hot water bottle will work as long as you have someone to reheat it for you). Try to sleep. Experience says if you can fall asleep the muscles will finish relaxing and you will be fine when you wake up.
Hope this helps at least one other person.
