severe abdominal pain after sex

Sort of the same thing happened to me last night. I have a little pain in my abdomen this morning. It sort of feels like when you work out a little longer than normal. dull but very noticeable. I have been with my husband for 13 years and never experienced anything like this. We tried a new way to make me orgasm and he was able to hit new spots that caused me to tense up (in a good way) way more than I normally do. It even caused me to squirt a little bit. I read an article on squirting last night that teaches you how to intensify love making to that degree and it may be because you had multiple orgasms or it may be because your partner went a little deeper than normal this time. Don't worry too much about it unless you start bleeding red blood.

Hi just reading everyone's posts...its difficult really because everyone has different pain thresholds and tolerances so while two people say the pain is terrible in actual reality one persons pain could be 5 times worse then the others. I think everyone needs to write more accurate descriptions and describe their pain on a one to ten level. because there are so many reasons for the pain we all might vary from serious problems to not so serious problems....diagnosing on the internet in dangerous! 

Anyway here's my sad story to add to the bunch.

Im 20 years old.

I had had thrush and had tried to have sex anyway (with a condom and lube) ouch!! not good... to ease the thrush symptoms I brought this vaginal moisturizer (for older woman and bloody expensive!) it is used to relieve, dryness, itchiness and all of that....it kind of helped anyway I also went and got the thrush cream, tried that....hated it!! so went and got the thrush pill. 

The majority of my symptoms went away within the day all except-my vagina was a little itchy inside still (ew i know). However i dont have any odors or unusual discharge and while i have a lot of sex and it is ALWAYS with a condom, I had one incidence (just over a week ago, so before the thrush started) where the condom broke. The man i was with assured me he hadn't ejaculated and that health wise he was completely fine so....Im ashamed to say i just left it.

After i took the medication I continued doing my thing and aside from the itchiness everything seemed o.k not completely normal again but o.k. 

Well i had sex yesterday in between the hours of 11.30am and1.30pm almost immediately i knew i felt physically uncomfortable but i ignored it as he was quite large and i have in the past experienced certain discomfort/pain during sex where the penis penetrates very deeply as an odd angle so i powered on but soon the pain became abnormally noticeable  i didnt want him to know so obviously the pain wasnt a ten because i could continue but it was very bad and my face probably showed it. it was as though every time he thrust in he hit my cervix and it hurt and the pain radiated....like he was hitting a gong lol. Think of the pain you experience with a very large penis at a very strange angle where it just hits you to deep and it hurts well it was worse then that......I had thought that was all it was at first but i quickly realized it was much worse. He wanted me to jump on top and i was freaking out by now because it hurt so much to bounce around on him. The pressure of his penis hitting my cervix  or whatever sore spot up there was very very unpleasant. I decided I would just try hurry and finish him off so i changed the angle to something slightly more bearable and we continued.....the weird thing is, i still had an orgasm? even thought the sex hurt and did not in the slightest feel good i still came....ehhh weird.

Anyway...I rolled off him and this pain started but it was different to the sex pain because that was with each thrust of his penis...this pain was a dull, intense ache in my whole abdomen area, it became so bad that i couldn't move at all so i just lay there quietly breathing. the heat from my mans palm helped a lot, I didn't sweat and i dont think i had trouble breathing not severe anyway but the pain was 100 times worse then period cramps and it made me to scared to move it also made me panic mentally. After 1o-15 minutes or so it  subsided enough for me to stand and i felt very delicate, urinating hurt but only because it seemed to used certain muscles that were in the effected area. Trying to pass gas hurt to, it was like deep deep abdomen muscles felt very very tender and sore. 

When i stood up very straight and arched my back slightly there was shooting pain in my abdomen around my bellybutton region that goes straight down to my pubic bone like a tight thread. This surprised me because that sharp pain i've had a couple times a year ever since i was a child. Sometimes i get it so bad i cant stand straight i have to walk around bent over (bent over i feel absolutely no pain but when i stand up its that sharp string of pain from belly straight down vagina-)if i stand very very slowly and breath deep and slow (deep breathing hurts alittle too) ive found i can ease it, if i stand straight suddenly.....i dont know, ive never tried...i feel the pain would rip me apart. anyway its very brief and im really used to it, nothing seems to trigger it in particular and i only get it once in a blue moon and because i know how to ease it, its never worried me...i just think of it as a very weird and intense cramp that i forget even happens to me. but yea i was surprised to feel this very familiar pain so soon after that whole sex ordeal. 

For the rest of the day and this morning, Ive felt bloated and very tender....if i arch my back to much i get that old sharp shooting thread of pain.....which is weird and annoying as its never lasted this long on its own(at least its not as bad as it usually gets) but coupled with the painful sex and the intense pain after it....its like i dont know what to think. I also feel slightly sick and the pain in my abdomen is more noticeable this morning then it was last night (hurts to sit up like a muscles strained).....lastnight it faded so much that it was only sore when i put pressure on the area...it hurts like ive had surgery?

f**k...im freaking out about this. im hoping its period related as my nipples are sore too but im sure i had mine not long ago....my cycles are so irregular.

So im thinking.....

thrush cream (allergic reaction?)

that vaginil moisturizer ('''')

not very good lube (''''')

the broken condom

really bad hormonal thing (my periods have been getting worse lately after i stopped birth control)

cancer cells that came up in my smear (weren't serious but needed to be noted)

these...are the probable reasons for the intense pain i felt?

or maybe its all a coinsidence...

its just weird that it seems to have triggered that old sharp pain that ive had ever since i was a kid and its a little alarming that its lasting so long.....but like i said earlier about it being a certain type of muscle cramp...maybe the new pain i felt just triggered it real real bad this time....

hey, ive been going through this problem for about 5 years.....had 2 failed pregnancies...not sure if they are linked though, and i obviously dont want to scare you! as the episodes come and go, not much has been done, even when i had to call an ambulance once. finally putting my foot down with my gp, ive been tested for stds-clear, BV-clear, the next step is an internal i think. My mum had endrometiosis, so im concerned myself as to whats going on! ill keeo you updated, take care.

have you ever received an answer to your question my daughter has a similar experience. The dr suspected she may have a yeast infection and was treated for this...thanks and hope you are doing better

I'm 34 years old.  I'm also an ER physician, so I was able to formulate my own differential diagnosis.  My experience is very similar.  I experienced severe lower abdominal pain that felt more like pressure and that same feeling you get with constipation trying to force a bowel movement.  Similar to what would be considered a bowel obstruction.  I got on the toilet, tried to have a bowel movement, got really, faint, overcome by dizziness and vomited twice.  I believe the vomiting and dizziness is a vagal response due to severe pain.  The pain was relieved by a small bowel movement and a heating pad.  I believe the pain is either uterine spasms from endometriosis or constipation.  Ask yourself, have you been constipated?  if so, does having a satisfactory bowel movement relieve the pain.  For me, I'm hoping its constipation.  But I am scheduled to see my ob/gyn for an ultrasound.  I hope this helps.  

Just experienced the same thing last night. It wasn't the first time I experience the pain. I'm 20. I just lost my virginity this year and have been dealing with this pain a couple times a year for about...5 or 6 years now. Usually it's triggered by exercise or arousal. I use to vomit almost every time I got the pain, but it helps if I control my breathing. Sometimes it goes away faster then others. I find that sipping cold water really helps me. It really sucks because my bf didn't know what to do and I felt bad for having to stop in the middle of sex. I still don't know what this is, but I have had cysts before. Never got them treated. Dr put me on ortho tri cyclen to reduce them. I am supposed to start my period soon but I never kept track before, so maybe there is a correlation there. I don't think all the women here have the same thing. Some symptoms seem a little different. I think it's best to get checked to at least rule out the bad and scary stuff. It could be the female equivalent to blue balls. Look that up if you don't know what it is. I hope we find some answers and a way to stop it soon. :) Best wishes and good luck everyone.

Glad to read other people stories. Yes my periods are due and i had sex and towards the end suddenly out of blue i had sooooooooooo biiig pain i never had. It's like when penis has hit your 'wall' very hard & it keeps going still 8h later and with added pain in lower stomach. I have been having sex with him for 4 years so i was surprised how it could have been too deep?? Swallen overies before periods totally makes sense... i hope its my case too. At least im not panicking... sure it can be something else...but at least i can sleep tonight :) It's nothing that crazy as i thought. glad i found this forum :)

I had this happen last night, it's happened one other time recently. It's never during sex but right after and is excruciating. I sweat, almost vomit and cannot find a soothing position and cannot speak. I am Getting my period next week. I'm 42 and have never experienced this before. Ugh

25 year old female. 4 days before my period began, I had the the most debilitating pain after intercourse. A couple days later we attempted again but had to stop within a couple minutes of me orgasming due to intense pain. While it is comforting to hear that there is unlikely anything wrong...would be more comforting to understand why this is happening. 

The lasy two days iv had these same symptoms intense "after c section" lile pains they are deep inside my lower and upper stomach. I am about to start my period this week too. I actually think that it could be a small hernia because of the symptoms im feeling sound similar. One position I found to ease this pain a little is on the floor curledin a ball with my rear end up. I also will pull on my stomach outwards it felt kinda better. I will vomit and sweat lile some of you mentioned. I take pepto bismol and try to eevacuate my bowls also and drink water. The pains lasts for like two days. I just hope to start my period soon I feel so bloated.

Last night I had the exact same symptoms as you have all described, it took about 30-40 mins until I fell asleep (thank god!!) but my little theory is... I had a friend who she said she once had a bf & he was the biggest guy she had ever been with & he use to poke something in there to start making her get contractions. & that is how I would describe the pain ... I'm not due for my period for another 2 weeks..

Did any of you guys find the cause of this pain? The past 6 months or so, same as all of you, if I have sex in the week leading up to my period I get a dull ache in my stomach and my back and legs ache so I have to stop and then it turns into intense pain, like someone is grabbing and twisting my ovaries! And my whole lower body seems to ache, no position eases the pain!! I too sweat and feel like I am going to vomit, I have to take painkillers & have a hot water bottle & just lay until after about half an hour it eases. It's been so bad my partner has offered to take me to A&E and he knows I'm a drama queen!! Any ideas? Glad I'm not the only one! When I have sex any other time of the month I am fine, I'm 24 and I have the implant.

Hi I'm 25 years old and started having pains in my stomach during and after sex a year ago to a point where I couldn't move or stand or walk to the bathroom after it. It felt like I was being stabbed with a knife that's how exteme it was. I had to curl up into a ball and wait for the pain to go. I went to the doctors and got checked for infections and anything else they could check internally. They kept telling me there was nothing wrong or couldn't find anything. After doing research myself i come across endometriosis which can only be diagnosed through a diagnostic laparoscopy which would be a tiny camera put through your belly button while your put asleep. Anyway I suggested that to the doctors as I knew there was something wrong and I couldn't live like that anymore. After a few weeks I was put on the waiting list and finally had the operation to find I did have endometriosis. It effects me not just during sex but can effect my bowel movements and when I'm eating etc. I didn't have any problems before having my son. But since he was born I started getting those problems which turned out to be endometriosis. I'm not saying that's what u have but it could be a possibility to check or rule it out. Also before I had the operation to see if I had endometriosis they checked if I had cysts on my ovaries on a ultra sound so that could be a possibility aswell. Anyway I hope u find out what is wrong u soon and get the treatment u need so u dont have to keep being in pain.

I experienced similar pain last night right after sex it came on dull and then it was the worst thing i ever felt it lasted 45 minutes untill i fell asleep..... I have been diagnosed with pocs (polycictistic ovary syndrome) the pain I felt was in my overys my uterus my vagina and my rectum...the paints would get worse and then ease and then get worse....i took some pain meds put on some icy hot and a cold pack on my lower abdomon and it still took along time for the pain to subside. due to my pocs I dont have regular periods since i was 13 however with the regiment of vitamins ive been taking ive gotten them to become more regular...i was having maybe one or two periods a year and now I have one every 28-50 days. I take an ovulation test yesterday morning that was positive. im not sure if all this is related or not or if this helps anyone....knowing im not alone helped me!
