Off and on for about a month or so, I have had itching and soreness around the vaginal opening. Now, I have severe burning in the vaginal opening, and a little around it, too. It burns so badly, it is very painful when I urinate. Could this be thrush? I don't have insurance and it is very hard for me to pay for a Dr. visit. I do have some amoxicillin from a previous prescription refill. Would this do the trick if it is thrush, or should I have something else for it? I have tried monistat, vagisil, and vaseline, but nothing helps! It is getting very painful to urinate and I am getting worried. I also have to wear poise pads all the time because of incontinence. Could wearing the pads all the time cause this? I am really unsure what this is. Also, I have some rawness from right below the anal area up to the vaginal opening. Can someone please help me? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I started with vaginal itch thinking that I had yeast infections, this continued for approx. 1 1/2 years. Then I started with vaginal burning with some itching for the last year, I was diagnosed with vulvadynia. I have been to many doctors. I then started going to a natural path docter who put me on natural herbs which started to help. I have always believed from the very beginning that it was a hormonal problem due to menapause, but none of the dr's would listen, they put me on a vaginal hormone cream, didn't work, I then went to my family dr who listened and put me on a hormone pill, I have noticed the burning going away after 2 weeks of being on the meds, if I had been put on the hormone pill at the beginning it might not of gotten this far, 3 1/2 years. I still have a little burning and I am also on lyrica, which I hate being on and is very costly, 358.00 monthly, luckly I have insurance which pays for most of it except 45.00. This vaginal problem has costed me thousands of dollars in the last 1/2. I am 52. I don't know ours age to know if u are going thru the change, but it might help checking into this . I which u the best with this problem and understand what your feeling, I have had nobody to talk to about this problem, not many people have ended up with this, I have suffered a long time. Due to my vaginal problem I have not been able to wear what I want, I have to wear loose clothing and skirts, which I was never a skirt person. Also this problem has taken up 3 1/2 years of my life.

I have same problem, many doctors, gyno, specialist, they can't figure it out. Expensive appointments and prescriptions. I don't use the pads at all, so that is nothing to do with it. I am 54, this has been going on for 1.5 years. Totally upsetting. My skin is burned from vaginal area to anus area. I believe it has something to do with my hormones, but none of the premarin creams, estrogen and progestrene pills have helped. In fact so far nothing has helped at all. I am so sick of this problem. Let alone no sex life, due to all this. Rawness is good description, fishers in skin. Hurts to pee and poop. Yes, had colonoscopia and nothing was found. It's the raw skin that is causing the pain. I am positive my discharge is the culprit. It's like my body is allergic to it. Please someone help. I have spent thousands to no avail.

I also have tried everything that you have, including hormone cream. I am looking for another Dr. now because the other DR.s are baffled. What hormonepill did they put you on? I hope your much better, and I will take any advice..I have missed sooo much work because of this. Thank you.

Stop wearing POISE pads!
I had 2 urinary tract infections and a groin rash. Couldn't figure out why I started with UTI's after not having one for 10 years.
There is an abstract on NIH website (US government website) that found the culprit to be the chemical meth(acrylate) which causes contact dermatitis. This chemical was found on both sides of the pad.
Here is the link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12165934
I filed an adverse medical report with the FDA and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If the pads are causing it, have you found an alternative? I have to wear something, I leak constantly and my pants stink if I don't.

I have had the burning for about 10 months from the pads and finally had a biopsy which called it Melanophagic dermatitis from contact with the pads Doctors have put me on all sorts of creams and pills but NOTHING is working. God forbid this goes on for 3-1/2 years. We need a good lab that will figure this out.

I have had severe pain and itching. My skin is so raw that it is bleeding. The pain is so severe that I actually yell out loud. Very odd as I have a very high pain tolerance, but this is absolutely terrible. It occurred to me that they redesigned the pads and there is a lot of ink on the pad, which was not there before. I don't have any discharge, smell, or vaginal itching. I have tried Monistat, but it didn't make any difference, Vagisil and I'm also using a cream with Lidocaine because it is so bad. Just realized that it might be the Poise pad. Have worn for years. Never had this problem. I am not sleeping well because this keeps awakening me.

I started having the burning sensation at the vaginal opening in 2004! By 2009, I could not wear any type of panties or pants, without almost an immediate burning sensation and then it becomes full blown, excruciating pain and bloating in my lower abdominal areas. Over the years, I have seen at least 14 different Gynocologists. They put me on every type of medication and some put me on estrogen and progesterone. None of them believe that all of my problems come from wearing pants or panties. I have spent well over $150,000 in doctor visits, all of the tests that they repeat over and over, etc. For years, I have not been able to wear pants. The only thing that I can wear is dresses and skirts with no underwear or tights with a huge slit in the crotch area. Please help! It is now 2019, and this has been going on way too long! Every time I attempt to wear a pair of pants or panties, the pain starts up and if I have then on for over 30 minutes, pain and bloating starts in my lower abdomen. Then, I deal with pain and bloating for several weeks, or more. There must be a way to treat this! The boric acid suppositories worked well the first few years. Now, my best remedy is inserting a large, raw garlic clove on a daily and nightly basis, for several days or more. PLEASE HELP! This is affecting my sex life and I would love to wear a pair of blue jeans again. Kim
