I suffer with this too. Very sporadically, either side. Same thing GP thought I sounded crazy, but the pain is so incredibly intense. Thank goodness its not an every night thubg for me like some of you are saying, but I noticed a few people said they have tingling numb arms when they sleep, I too have this and wonder if there's a link between the two issues somehow...

I do best sleeping on the gap between 2 pillows. Tried a gap pillow and a cooling pillow but went back to the 2 pillow arrangement. Searching.

I'm amazed so many people have this problem. I thought I was the only person that gets ear aches while laying down.
I started going over what I was eating to see if maybe I was allergic to something. I did this for years and then one day I ate a slice of pecan pie. I had the worst ear ache that night and ended up sleeping in a chair. It was the corn syrup! As long as I do not eat anything with corn syrup or high frutose corn syrup I do not get the ear ache. Corn syrup is in most of our processed foods especially foods at restaurants. I sometimes forget like yesterdayy I ate a slice of DQ ice cream cake and had a sleepless night!
