If your abdominal pain is in two separate "localized" areas such as you mentioned - the left AND right side you may be experiencing one of the following...
1- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
2- Kidney Infection
Usually Kidney Infection includes having pain in the mid/lower region of your back. Although, you should pay attention to any differences or complications with urination.
I'm not a doctor so please know that I'm just giving some friendly and concerned advice. I've suffered through a lot of different things in my 23 years, and I am always glad to help when I can.
Seriously, I would either go to the emergency room soon if your symptoms worsen because they can usually make the strong suggestions to your Primary Physician on what actions would be beneficial to your health. And if it's serious then they can take care of the issue immediately. Your best bet, if you don't like the ER, is to go see a urologist and/or a gastroenterologist (gastro is assisting me with the current pains in my left abdomen).
I sure hope I've shed some light on your dilemma. Take care of yourself and get better soon!
