I'm 10 months pass neck fusion C5 & C6. Surgery went well, no problems.
I've been having sharp pain, severe stinging & burning in the back of my neck and all seems to be getting worse. The muscle spasms are now going down the right side of my neck. At times it's so severe that it's painful. I have a high tolerance for pain but this is tough to handle. I've been taking Gabapentin 300mg and Cyclobenzaprine 10mg.
Is this something I need to get use to? I'm being told from the dr.....everyone is different, you are still in the healing progress, etc. This is getting to be a depressing situation.
Any comments or experience would be greatly appreciated.

I had 3 neck fusion and the same burning painful chronic pain so the Dr had me go to PT didn't work they just water to exercise me, then they suggested neck massages so I went 2x a week for 3 months and its the only thing that got rid of the burning neck pain. I would suggest that. Hood luck@

Are either of you still getting the stinging and burning or did things get better? I'm post op at seven months in the stinging down the right side of my neck is unbearable. I had a fusion of the C 3/4 and the C 6/7. My physical therapist told me it's at the C7 level that I'm having all these issues.
