I was doing Squats about a week ago using resistance bands, in the middle of the workout out of the blue I felt a very sharp pain in my neck near the base of the brain. I immediately stopped the workout and the pain subsided within a few minutes.
I have full range of motion of my head and can move it without any pain what so ever, but the same pain returns anytime my heart rate is elevated. I feel the pain with every single heartbeat while I have a high heart rate. After allowing my heart rate to return to a normal level, the pain usually completely subsides in about 5 to 10 minutes.
I tried googling this issue, but the only related topic I could find was someone else on this website describing the exact same problem a year ago, sadly there were no responses to his inquiry. Below is the link to the other guy with the same problems if anyone wants to see his description.

I've had the same issue twice before over the last 4 yeatrs and have it again now.
All that worked was rest, proper neck support at night and lots of sleep. I've come across threads claiming that N.O supplements could aggrevate condition, I can believe it as it cuases dilation of blood vessels and this seems to be a blood pressure related issue. I'm fine all day, but let me even cycle for 5 minutes and my neck is in agony!

i have the same issue. How long did it take for the issue to go away. Also, once its gone were you able to get back to gym...or was it a limiting factor?

I have the same issue. I had a concussion a year ago which is the time it started. I've been to PT, chiropractor, spine clinic, just got steroid injections, nothing has helped. I'm starting to worry it's something wrong with blood flow. No masses shown in MRI. Did you find out what was causing it for you?

I have been having the same issue. But just when I do deadlifts. My heart races and the pain in my neck. When my heart goes down the pain goes away. Everything points to angina. I have had a nuclear stress test and echocardiogram. Everything came back fine. But it can only be angina? I'm worried

I had this issue and it came back to me again a few days ago. When i had it first only my natural doctor (i dont know how its called in english) helped me. I think those muscles called stress muscles and it can produce this symptom. He cracked my spine and my neck and i did not have any problem with it for 5 years.
