I have sharp shooting pain, lower abdomen, right side that sometimes radiate to the left and my back, this pain has been going on for quite a few years, they did tell me I have several cysts about the size of on 1" each on the cervics and ovaries, so they put me on a low dose of birth control, which help with the heavy bleeding and some of the pain, then the birth control quite working and I went into a constant heavy bleed, so they up the birth control, not helping with the pain though, I don't want to be on birth control anymore (I am 44) don't want heaving menstruals and definately don't want the bad pain I get every day from the time I get up to the time I go to bed and nothing helps for the pain.  So now I am at the point of a hystorectomy, they are going to remove everything but the left ovary, this will be done through the vagina via laparoscopic hysterectomy devices so they can look at everything inside to make sure there is no scar tissue, endometriosis or cancer.  Everyone I talk to that has had the same symptoms and had it done, said it was the best thing they ever did, so I am hoping I am making the right choice to have this done.  It is a six week recovery time, so I thought I would share my story with everyone and hope it helps.
