Hello, yes, if you read the title, I am pregnant. I'm only 15, and yes, I know, it was very irresponsible but we used protection and it obviously failed. The thing is, how do I tell my parents? And the thing is, the father has a girlfriend, and a scholarship for lacrosse to his dream college.. (I didn't know he had a girlfriend at the time). Should I tell him? Oh by the way, he's 17 going on 18. Please help me. I'm so scared but I know I want this baby.

Hi Maia,

As difficult as it may be just sit your parents down and tell them - as an adult, that you are pregnant.  They may get upset but remember, they will ALWAYS love you.  You'll understand that soon enough if you don't already.

As for the father, he has a right to know he's going to have a child.  Make sure that he is listed on the birth certificate and that he contributes to taking care of the child.  It doesn't matter that he has a girlfriend or even if he was married, he is still responsible for child support.

This may sound cruel but his plans for college, etc., should not be your primary concern.  He may have to make some sacrifices to support his child just as you will.

Good luck.
