I'm 16 years old, started my period at age 11. Everything has been perfectly normal up until this last year. Now every time I get my period I have horrible flulike symptoms and don't even want to get out of bed in the morning, because I'm hardly getting sleep I feel so bad. Nobody else I know has had this problem and I don't think it's normal. I have an appointment to get on birth control sometime soon (no I'm not having sex, too young for that.) and I'm hoping maybe my doctor will know what's going on? But I'd like to get some opinions before. Along with these symptoms I have cramps that pretty much alter everything. I can't think or concentrate and sometimes even WALK they get so bad. Someone help? :/

This has happened to me a few times since I have started my period. It just means that your hormone level is up more than normal. You can try taking Midol or Pamprin it helps calm the period side affects. Try to stay away from Ibruprophren or Tylenol bc it can make your period heavier. If you any more questions just ask me ok!
