Hi, so i've had this little white ball on the edge of my scrotum for maybe about a year now. And i'm kinda worried about it. It doesn't hurt or bother me at all. It's hard and about just under half a cm big. I tried poping it and picking at it, but that didn't help, it's red and hurts a little bit. But i'm sure that'll go away. I dont think it's cancer because it's not on my testicle. Should i see a doctor, and what do you think it is?

Thanks

You should have it examined by a doctor to put your mind at rest.

It sounds to me like a lymph node. Something that becomes hard and inflamed as it processes the results of a minor infection. This small bumps, under the size of a pea, are frequently found in the groin, around the scrotum and in the pubic area, also under the armpit and are part of the lymph system.

I'm perplexed by the fact that it has existed for more than a year. But perhaps it is another one... not the original, but a sequential one or two.

The fact that it hasn't grown, that it is not red or tender, and that it is hard leads me to think this.

But you need an exam to be sure.
