Hello. I'm 27 year old male and I have this one weird problem. I don’t know how to describe it and I know it may sound funny but the thing is that I can smell cigarette smoke almost all the time.
I'm not a smoker nor as anybody in my house smoke. But this isn’t happening to my only in my house but also on the outside, on the open air. I can feel it in my class, in my school, in my car etc...
I don’t know what to do with this. When I mention this to my friends they just laugh and that’s all. I don’t know what could cause it and some good advice would be more then appreciated.

I believe I know what you are talking about. Don’t ask me how I know but I can tell you almost for sure that you experienced some strong sinus inflammation recently. Am I right?
This is quite common problem because bacterial and fungal super infections can occur even after the strongest antibiotics.
This is probably the cause of your strange smell.
I really don’t want to scar you but I would like also to tell you that phantom smells is a sign of abnormal brain function such as tumors or maybe some aneurism.
That’s why I would suggest you to contact your neurologist as quick as you can and let him check this out.

I'd like a straight forward answer on this subject, this is serious to me. I don't need sarcasm. this smelling of wood smoke has be going on for a few years now. it's a relief to know I'm not the only one with this problem. On Feb. 20th I'm having an operation, should I tell the surgeon about this or not.
