Sore, red, raw skin around vaginal area

HI,

I'm hoping that someone can take a look at this post and send some knowledge my way. Am an african american full figured woman, and noticed a couple months ago that the area around my vagina was red and sore to the touch. i discounted this as chaffing and started using a medicated powder, but it continues and as someone who perspires a lot the powder seems to have made it a little more irritated. having examined myself i have noticed that the redness is now on the inside of the area as well.

now, i am a virgin, so i know there is not chance of an STD, but this is scary, especially as i am engaged to be married and i don't want to carry this into my marriage. it is painful to the point where there are times when i just have to remove my underwear for relief. i've changed my detergent to a baby formula as well in the hopes of some relief.
