I have been diagnosed with Staphylococcus Aureous (in the nasal area) (I believe that there is a difference between Aureous and Aureus?).
I have been prescribed Mupirocin Nasal Ointment.
Do I have MRSA? If so, how serious is this and what precautions should I take (I may have to go into hospital soon for a hernia operation). My regular GP is on holiday so I am unable to refer back to her just now.
Thank you for any advice you can give me. I am very anxious.
