I have constant discomfort on my left/middle side that my doctor tells me is my stomach, but no answer as to what the problem is (maybe irritable bowel syndrome), but the location to me seems to be to high up to be bowel. I have also been hospitalized 3 times in the last 2-1/2 years for severe lower intestinal pain (12 on a scale of 1-10) where I end up on a liquid diet, liquid antibiotics, & morphine injections for 2-3 days until it passes. All tests (cat scans, mris, blood work) are all normal, which is a good thing, but again the gastroenterologists can't tell me what is wrong. I do know these attacks have always occurred following a period of high stress in my life. Any thoughs on this would be very helpful. Thank you.

I have had the same exact problem (except on my right/middle side). I've been hospitalized twice and seen mulitple doctors. I had a colonoscopy and several different bloodworks/catscans/xrays. Nothing has come up. But the pain has grown even more intense especially over the past few weeks. I am becoming desperate to find out what is wrong with me, but I have no idea what to do next. I hope you find an answer as I continue to find an answer of my own.

Talon,
I am now seeing a homeopathic doctor that I really like. He ran a few tests & feels it may be my adrenal system. When you have been under alot of stress for a long time the adrenal system becomes overtaxed & can no longer produce the adrenaline required to properly stimulate the digestive & immune systems. I took an adrenal stress test & will know the results @ my next visit this week. If that is the problem then he will address treatment for that as well as stimulating my digestive system to begin to function properly on it's own again.
I have done some research online re: adrenal fatigue that I have found seems to fit my condition. I will let you know the results of my visit this week & hope it may be helpful to you too.

I have had the same kind of stomach pain for almost four years. I had an eating disorder that saw me not only under eat but live on coffee and cigarettes. The stomach pain I get also seems to accompany stress and I am grateful for your post about adrenal fatigue. I will look into this.
