My boyfriend woke up this morning with swollen lips. His face is itchy. He has welts on his waist/hip area and red splotches on his hands. He had shoulder surgery two weeks ago. 2 days ago he took his meds. He commented that it felt as if the meds got stuck in his throat. Yesterday he woke up sick on his stomach/throwing up. today he woke up with swollen lips. Could it be an internal spider bits? Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? He say his ortho doctor today who said it wasn't his meds, surgery, etc and to "just watch it."

Be sure it's not the meds. The only way to know that for sure is to look for the reaction after he takes them and does not ingest and food or drink in between the meds and the reactions. Be sure, especially if he didn't have these symptoms before taking starting on the meds. Otherwise, get a second opinion. The reactions have got to be frustrating and probably painful. If you bug your current doctor/surgeon enough, he might take a me proactive approach to your concerns. Good luck...Please let us know how you are doing.
