I have had episodes of tachycardia since I was 20 and I am now 29 and the symptoms are coming more frequently. My resting heart rate sometimes speeds up to 120bpm, after eating a full meal. I have occasional palpitations, during tachycardia, and often when first getting up in the morning. Last week I had pains that would come and go many times a day in the heart region and this week I had pressure and a feeling of needing to cough many days. Maybe anxiety… even though I don't feel anxious…. Any idea of what this could be? What are the long term effects of tachycardia?

I had tachycardia since I was child. I am 42 now. At odd times, not necessarily related to exercise, I experience a very fast pulse, too high to count accurately. Sometimes it's from a jolt, although whenever it happens I get really tired and need to just stand still or sit and let it pass. Why you haven’t been tested? Have you told this to a cardiologist? You might benefit from a holter monitor test. See a doctor he will explain you long term effects.
