I've been in a methadone clinic for almost 12 yrs now " so much for my 1 yr plan " when I first started they used methadone " dolophine" , after about six months or so they switched to methadose . I honestly didn't really notice a difference but then again I was still in the process of getting stable on a dose. Ive heard many say they had to increase their dose and I've heard many say they didnt notice any difference . I've also heard some say the methadose was stronger , so I'm gonna say it all depends on the person and how it affects each individual.

Maybe them getting a little sleepy/high whatever is what it takes for them to stop sticking needles in their arms or robbing drug stores or cant look after their kids very well because they have no energy is what they need. Remember its called "harm reduction" So go back to your NA meetings!

Methadone vs. Methadose.
Where I live there are 2 clinics, one has methadose and the other has methadone. On methadose (140mg daily) I would feel withdrawl symptoms after 20 hours (runny nose, yawning, and mass craving). When I switched to the other clinic that had methadone (140mg daily), it worked perfectly for me. I can go 36 hours before I start to feel any withdrawl symptoms. So now I dont wake up sick anymore. So for me, IMHO methadone is better than methadose, but everybody is different..

Everything you say sound right. I don't understand how people keep saying they are the same unless they are people who have never tried it. In Ontario they made us switch over to methadose and I had an awful time with it for the first three months it was like I was in withdrawl. But after a bit I was fine although it is no where near as effective in combating drug cravings or taking the edge off as the real methadone.

First of all Geniuses, there is a huge difference. Methadose is the liquid or pill form to help kick an opiate habit, while Methadone is an opiate used to treat severe pain.

I really would like to know the difference between Methadone and Methadose. I take methadone 10mg 6 times a day for pain. But, a friend of mine told me about methadose and I tryed one and it did not seem to work the same way. I need to know what it does in our bodies because I get tested and need to know if it will come up as methadone or something else. Please if anyone knows please let me know. Thanks

Sorry 2 SAY that's BS cuz I'm on the clinic 4 methadone but they give methadose at my clinic, TRUST ME there is a huge difference to someone who barely would notice, that's the sale as perks, the 543's are wayyyyy stronger than the 512's plus I was in hospital for 3 months and they had to dose me everyday with METHADONE AND FELT FINE, THE I GOT OUT OF HOSPITAL and went back on the clinic and they give methadose ur body (NOT UR MIND) DEF NOTICES THE SWITCH OR difference so to say they are some is a lucrid statement.... know your sh*t b4 u say sumthing

I've been at a government ran methadone clinic for ten years now an I'm going to tell you my experience with the dose vs the done the clinics called par I go to now an they give methadose but I was going to a place called metro that's not funded by the government they give a red methadone that's actually methadone h c the others a clear methadose I was on fourty mg of the red vs onetwenty of the government clear c**p an I felt the same so yes methadone is stronger the clinic doctor told me there's a slight difference cause of the additives an surger being one but they had a problems with people getting diabetes from the methadone

120 mg of methadose leaves me sick in the morning, Methadone would not do that, Many people insist on brand name because the binder in generic is differant and affects the way it is absorbed and how people react to it. Methadose is just one more example. Patients are being ripped off and are victims of malpractice? I do not know but people are suffering on methadose. Do are doctor's know and understand this ? I do not think so
