they might all be 10 mg but they are made up of D isomers and L isomers, the amount of D and L methadone in them are very different. the d methadone hits the nmda receptor,it prevents opiate withdraw as well as makes it hard for the person to get high commonly usd in all mmt settings that dispense liquid. the micture is 90% d-isomers 10% L isomers and does not vary from manufactures ..the L isomer has 50x the analgesia potency of D methadone and gives the euphoric effects, the pills used for pain management can range all the way up to 60% L methadone 40% D methadone. so yes there is a big difference on the brand

I agree. Many doctors struggle with the nuances of recovery. What works for one person may not work for another. Even if they're situations are simillar , they are never the same.
When I changed from 80 mil methadone to methadose, I had to increase my dose to 160! and I felt a lot of risidual side effects I .E. depression, loss of sex drive, ect. That I never had with methadone.... The right drug, in the right doses will have a huge effect on your quality of life. It's a shame the DEA has scared everyone so badly that they will just let people suffer.

I agree. I have been on Methadone for 10 years, for opioid dependency then i went to a different clinic that has Methadose and the two are very different .Methadose doesn't work well at all.

Their is a huge difference. don't know the reasoning, but methadose is more for patients in the MMT porgram. Methadone or Dolophine which comes in 5 to 10mg tablets are drastically different in so many ways. Mallinckrodt Methadone used for mostly Chronic or neuropathy pain. Even with the Roxanne (54-142) 10mg tablets you can notice a difference between the mallinckrodt 10 mg m boxes. A lot more research here in USA. Theirs at least four to six different effects to the brain. So basically what it comes down too. Methadose which come in 5,10,40 mg tablets and liquid methadose as well far exceed the difference which are for MMT patients. The methadone or Dolophine tablets are for Chronic pain patients. I prefer the Roxanne Methdone 10mg tablets over any other brand the latest ones by Accent that have ASC 716 horrible don't even try em trust me for Chronic Pain patients only. BTW it's was a test really, have a friend in Chronic neuropathy pain and took double his dose from Mallinckrodt Methadose and was still sick sweats dilated eyes etc.... Tested another friend who was in MMT porgram he did 20% less his dose and got a euporic more pain killer feeling not sick one bit eyes were pinned. Took it to the next step and tryed both Assend Methadone and Malli's Methadone and Roxanne Methadone 10 mg (54 142) only needed 30% less then Methadose and finally when given Dolophine 10 mg tablets (54 549) only needed 40% of his normal dose from The others and received more of a pain opiate feeling period, he was sad he had to continue MMT cause he's an addict and was so shocked. So yes we have different forms of it India has its own form of it as well..

No there is no optically pure leave methadone in the US or anywhere else with the exception of Germany. All methadone is the racemic mixture. Methadone is the racemic mixture of both the dextrorotory and laevorotary isomers. L-methadone has a different name to avoid the confusion and is known by the brand names L-Polamidon, L-Polamivet, Levadone and Levothyl

NO ACTUALLY THEY CAN B DIFF IN THE STRENGTH DEPENDING ON BRAND OF METHADONE[DOLOPHINE]... LEGALLY GENERICS CAN B N E WHERE FROM 10-20% WEAKER than the BRAND NAME version of such particular drug....
I find VISTAPHARM to b about @ least 5% [which in certain doses, makes a difference especially in how long it "holds"] less potent... prolly near 10% compared to say Roxanne Labs. which I find to b tha strongest of all the generics of "dolophine" [methadone]
I been on tha methadone clinic/program for 11 years so I have had em all [the different generics] n I feel ROXANNE LABS makes the BEST [I've heard MALLINKRODT is jus' as strong.. I don't remember cause I barely took that "brand" so...] but yea, IT CAN VARY 10-20% in ALL PHARMS wit generic drugs..... I REALLY NOTICE THIS DIFF IN STRENGTH N QUALITY even [feels "dirtier" if that makes sense] with my ADDERALL which I get INSTANT RELEASE in generic n izz @bout 20 percent weaker than ADDERALL brand name...... hope this helps

I have jeard ftom every so called professional that they are the same but I was forced to make the switch as a resident of Ontario. My province was one of two that switched ovrr in Canada. I had a heck of a time with it until my body got use to it. At first I felt as if I was in withdtawl. My bowls loosened and I was constantly on the toliet and I went through the sweats. Eventually everything calmed down. However when I moved to Sask I was forced to return to methadone. This time my respitory system began to act up making breathing very difficult as well as sleeping. I was tested for every respitory. Illness, had chest xrays......nothing showed up. Finally a wise doctor from Ontario told me he had a few patients who went through the same thing and to try splitting my daily dose. Luckily I had carries so as well as dropping my dose by 40 ml over a two month peroid. My breathing returned to normal The chemical principles are not the same and it is possible for it to be mixed wrong. Whatever the reason I am living proof they are not the same so my advice is dont listen to anyone who isn putting the drug in their body and are getting their info from a book or second hand verbally. I dont want anyone else going through what I did. My guess is Methadose is about 20 percent weaker.

It's an opiate blocker. Meaning no matter what opi U take (heroin/oxy/morphine), you will NOT feel it. (Although your wallet will!) That's why some people who start going to a methadone clinic quit soon after they start. Just like most people who know absolutely nothing about it, they think they're gonna go there and get high only to find the methadone/methadose actually might help them stay off street drugs! Heaven Forbid!!!
