I had lazier surgery for snoring in Sept 2006. Ever since, I have a sensation of something being stuck in the back of my throat, like a dried raisin. When I am busy I don't notice it too much. However at night or when driving, it drives me crazy. Makes me want to clear my throat very hard and spit it out, but of course, nothing comes out.
At night, flem builds up in my throat and I wake up not being able to breath. I have to run to the bathroom and spit it out. That means I don't get enough sleep either.
The sensation of having a dried raisin in the back of my throat is 24x7 and it is really getting on my nerves. I went back to the Dr. about a month after the surgery and he told me it would go away. I went back to see him today and he says everything looks perfect to him, but he has no explanation for the sensation I have. He charged me his fee and essentially said to learn to live with it.
Has anyone else had this problem?
