I have recently started to work out and excercise more. Am 24 going on 25 yrs. old and I used to be a bouncer and am 6'4'' and was 275 lbs. I ended up leaving that profession due to being striked in the head with a metal stand in Dec. '07. Have been fighting with Worker's compensation over my injury since March '08 and even my lawyers say they found no further injuries yet they refuse to scan my head and have only scanned my back.
Out of shape and overweight I decided to change my problem and take better care of my health due to no progress or help from workers' comp nor my "Larry H. Parker" lawyers. I'm a big guy and pretty tough and show no visible signs of pain "in their eyes" despite me knowing and feeling discomfort. I used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and weed but have lessened my cigarette intake a lot (2-3 a week) but still smoking weed on a daily basis.
I haven't had a physical check up or medical insurance in a few years and I have been active off and on with getting back into excercising since May '08 but have taken more of a serious approach to working out these past 2 weeks. On average, i jog about 2 miles and jump rope for 15 minutes 3 times a week. I have managed to control my weight and am down to 220 lbs right now.
I recently started a new workout program for conditioning and abs and have been doing it for about a week now and have had some intense muscle cramps including cramping under my left armpit and upper left chest.
My muscle cramps are starting to go away, but this pain hasn't. I thought it could be my heart or left lung; possibly sore muscles around those areas, but I just recently jogged 2 miles an hour ago and was able to complete it but felt weaker on my left side with a shortness of breath compared to 2 days ago and it feels like I'm breathing a little more out of my right side than left. Occasionally throughout the day, the pain eases but hasn't dimenished. Also, some moderate pain in the sternum like bad indigestion or heart burn.
Is this anything to worry about? Not a big fan of getting surgery done or bad news about health(who is though?) and reading all these topics and replies has me a bit jittery too. Any suggestions?
