Hi, my 10 year old son has been prescribed with Adderall, but I can see no improvement in his condition and he’s been taking it for a month now. Should he change therapy?

Hi, if there is no progress, it would be logical to stop that treatment. But, perhaps higher doses are needed or application of therapy is not appropriate. Most of the children affected by ADHD have been relived by taking Adderall. Still there are 10-20% of those who are not getting any improvement. Perhaps, you should switch to Ritalin, since those who don’t respond to Adderall, usually react to Ritalin. The beneficial effects of stimulant adhd medication treatment can be seen very soon, after starting the therapy. Attention to class work can improve a lot and the child can catch up with it classmates.
