Trichomonas vaginalis is a microscopic parasite found all around the world and infection with Trichomonas is called trichomoniasis. Trichomoniasis is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. It is mainly affecting sexually active women. Trichomonas infection is spread through sexual activity and it is expecially common among women who have multiple sexual partners. Signs and symptoms of infection are foul smelling, discharge from the vagina, vaginal redness and itching, painful sexual intercourse, urge to urinate and many others.
