I have a 7 week old baby that had pulmonary stenosis and had a balloon valvoplasty 3 days after she was born. She was in the NICU for about 10 days. She is doing well now as far as that goes and sees a cardiologist every 3-4 weeks right now. because she was bottle fed in the nicu I could never get her back to breast and nursing efficiently. I do pump and she has only ever gotten breast milk. She seems to have to work hard to get her poop out a couple times a day. She will strain and grunt sometimes for up to two hours. She has always pooped 6 pr more times a day. She gets fussy when she trying to poop and having award time. A couple of weeks ago her poop started to change. She had some green poop. The doctor said this was no cause for concern as she looks good and is gaining weight. Then last week she had a poop that was yellow and a little green. It was very mucousy and had one tiny speck of blood in it. I took her to the doctor and she told me to stop eating dairy and soy and see if that helps. I had previously given her zantac for possible reflux but after 2 and a half weeks there was no change so i discontinued it. She is currently on propanolol a beta blocker but is being weaned off it as she is on the same dose and is 3 lbs bigger then when she started it. The last 2 days she has been fussier then ever. On Friday she pooped about 8 in the morning and did not go again until almost 8 pm. She cried most of time in between. Then yesterday she cried all evening. I have tried rubbing her stomach, doing a bicycle motion with her legs and several other things. This morning same thing not fussy yet but a very slimy watery poop. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel so bad when i know she is uncomfortable and i can't seem to help her.
