To the guest w/ the heavy bleeding that needed a transfusion. I was like you. Only After my daughter was born i never stopped bleeding I bled for about 7 months straight which didn't bother me since I've been like that before and sometimes even longer, I would seriously fill ultra tampons up in 10 mins at most and overnight pads in about 15 mins. But I started feeling really sick like I had the flu cuz I had the vomiting and diarrhea for like a week straight I mean I literally could not get out of bed to take care of my daughter my husband had to if not assist me to the bathroom, carry me there cuz I was just that weak from being sick and losing so much blood. I spent every day out of two weeks in and out of the ER to have them finally tell me after I passed out in my house that my blood count was in critical levels and if I didn't have a Blood Transfusion as soon as possible I would start having seizures and then possibly go into a coma. Well I didn't believe in doing transfusions so they gave me provera to see if it would STOP my bleeding but to no avail. After making my hospital bed and bath room look like a murder scene they came in and said I had absolutely no more options I had to have the transfusion. My blood count had gone down 4 more points within about a half hour or so. And, even after the transfusion I still took the provera with a birth control and iron twice daily to control my bleeding but it has not worked. So depending on the milligrams you could bleed more or less or even stop all together. Cuz my mom had the same problem as me at the same time and the provera stopped her bleeding long enough for her to get the novasure done. But if you don't stop there are other options like metformin with birth control pills like I did before my daughter (It just made my bleeding regular (to an extent in my case)), Then there is provera, then Novasure which I'm thinking of trying, Mirena also helps with abnormal bleeding but in my case if it's too heavy then it's not recommended, then of course a hysterectomy (which my insurance won't cover due to my age). I mean there are other things but if your like me where I've had enough with the bleeding and I'm done having kids I would say the hysterectomy would be better cuz everything else doesn't fully stop the bleeding and novasure MAY stop it depending on how your body reacts to it.

Ok first of all I of course have the same problem. I couldn't get pregnant because of it they put me on Metformin to help me get pregnant. And it helped, after about 2 yrs of taking it. I have a beautiful daughter now and 6 months after she was born I still hadn't stopped bleeding and every hospital I went to said it was fine nothing was wrong ad to just go home. When my daughter was 7 months I got really sick with vomitting and diarrehea. I went to the hospital every single day for a week and sometimes twice in a day. I wasn't till the last day when I couldn't stand and my husband had to carry me in the hospital that they decided they needed to find out the problem. That night I was admitted into the hospital and they kept saying my blood levels were also in critical levels and that if I didn't have the blood transfusion I would start going in sezjures and with all my bleeding possibly a coma. Since my Sit down and discuss everything with your doctor and the side effects. This has been a long and painful 6 years for me.

Hello. I'm 21 years old, and my dr told me that the lining of my uterus was too thick. She put me on provera, and I didn't bleed but for like a few days. This was like last year. Well, the dr then told me that I can't have kids. It freaked me out. Even though the lining of my uterus is too thick. Can I still have kids? I get my periods like once or twice every 5-6 months. Weird, I know. Can anyone relate?

I started bleeding in Nov. and lasted until Feb. with a few days of spotting here and there. I had an ultrasound in January and they said I had a thick endo lining. I needed to go to my Gyno for annuals and she said to bring my ultrasound results. When they faxed them to me I noticed it said that I have two cysts. My Gyno assured me that it is normal to have cysts and that as long as I don't have multiple (chain) it's okay. She did mention that I'm not ovulating though (not cyst related, lining related?).

She prescribed me Provera to try to thin the lining. (btw I am trying to conceive. I am 29 w/o kids). Since I had finally stopped bleeding I decided to wait to see if my period would start on it's own naturally. It didn't, just very little spotting for 3 days. So I started the Provera. I took 10 mg for 10 days. I am bleeding now, day 6 and it is the worse period I have ever had; insane cramps and heavy flow. I am suppose to go in for another ultrasound tomorrow but I may have to postpone since I haven't stopped bleeding.

I am also taking prenatals. Doc also gave pain med for cramps (thank god). Initially before they gave me the Provera I had tried some other things like Vitex, red raspberry leaf, bee pollen and I still got a diagnosis of thick lining, no ovulation, and period stopped all together so I stopped taking all that. I had read success stories about all of those things but everyone is different I guess. I've been to an acupuncturist too and she suggested I just take the Provera relax and not stress about it (she didn't even give me acupuncture). She said she sees a lot of women who stress about ttc and that you need to just relax. She suggested wine :-) so I am trying to just take things a day at a time and hopefully some day will have a baby.

Hi my 14 year old daughter has been diagnosed with thick uterine lining as well. Her periods are so heavy 2 pads arent enough, she sits on towels and cannot consider going to school during her period. She gets it regularly every 30 days but are extremely severe. Her Gyno put her on Yaz,and Naproxen and when her next period cam it didnt stop.It started May 19th and is still going strong and today is the 10th of June. Her bleeding is severe her cramps are dibilitating, she is dizzy, light headed and has fainted twice. She sleeps constantly and complains of nausea. Her Hemoglobin count came back at 142 which is apparently normal so a new drug will be prescribed.During the past week her doctor suggested we double up her BirthControl meds but it hasnt helped.Any other suggestions??We are seriously considering seeing a  Homeopathic Doctor as we know there will be no side effects with their remedies and it will not mask the issue but cure it.....

I am 42 and went to the doctor because i have been having heavy periods lasting two months. I was given provera and nearly hemmoraged. This is gross but I was bleeding so heavy my bathroom walls were covered with blood. I was not told that I would bleed on provera, only that it would stop the bleeding. I will never take that stuff again! Waiting now to hear about an appt. with a obgyn

I was just informed today that my ultrasound showed thickened uterine lining and I have to go in for a biopsy next week. I'm really scared and I have been having cramp feeling in my right pelvic area since yesterday morning.

DId you ever find out what it was? I am 28 and have the same issue. I had a baby 5 months ago and am worried that it's cancer. I'm having my D&C and biopsy next week. I was curious as to what your outcome was. Thanks!

I have been on that depo-provera shot for almost five years now. I have read a few bits of information that you aren't supposed to be on the shot for that long. Just recently I had to get off it. I was between shots and for a month I would not stop bleeding. I started getting bruises (and I do not bruise easily). After I noticed the bruising, I got dizzy and nearly passed out in the shower. It really scared me so I called my doctor, and they told me to come in immediatley. They took 5 tubes of blood to check my thyroid, and pituitary gland. I haven't heard back from them about the blood test results, but I have an ultra sound today so that they can check the lining of my uterus for thickness. I am assuming that the depo shot did all of this to me. Wish me luck today.

I was told that you can hit menopause at a younger age, I myself found the same thing when I started googling about having thick walls. Within a year after I had a tubal ligation so I couldn't have more kids, I had to go in for a biopsy it's a scrapping of the wall they do inside your vaginal and sometimes they take a snip to test it. You feel discomfort afterwards but it's nothing major. I then later on found out I had a cyst rupture on one of my ovary's after I was rushed to the hospital in pain and bleeding. I' am nervous because it seems I have had more problems after a tubal ligation then I have ever had with my vaginal and lower stomach. I was told by someone that if it is to do with menopause then they may just do a hysterectomy since I' am already done with kids. I also read up that it could be tumors the reading said there are safe and not so safe tumors.I' am already worried enough and now to see this and be left waiting for slow doctor appointments. It's stressful.

Hullo Dr. Samuel, i had a sharp alternating pain from left to right side of the lower abdomen. some times its both sides or one side a month especially during ovulation. this never happened to me before until i was diagnosed with PCOS and did laparoscopy. recently i did a scan and the radiologist wrote that i had much fluid in the POD (not measured), uterus measured 98 x54x79mm and 12mm thick on the 13th day of my LMP. two years failed to conceive but that was before the operation but up to now i dont know whether i cant try conceiving again with this unusual pain. the signs of menstrual periods are back to normal (i.e. breast pain before periods and pain during periods) i have one kid 5years old son) tell me,what is really going on with in my reproductive system

changing your eating habits isn't going to help your uterus no matter how much you want it to. You NEED an ultrasound and a biopsy of your uterine lining. I just went thru this, thankfully my biopsy was fine and no pre cancer cells were found either. I am obese so I have changed the way I am eating and have lost 30 lbs, but I have a long, long way to go. Trying to decide if I want to try Mirena as my GYN says I should, or if I want to try to get a new doc to do a hyserectomy.
